Carly Petrzelka, Administration Team Leader

On a day-to-day basis, I support the operations that deliver health and welfare benefit administration services to a designated group of clients. My responsibilities include ongoing administration, annual enrollment support, and continually finding ways to enhance our services and the outcomes for our clients and their employees. I find purpose thinking about the end users of our technology and how the work we do ensures people have health and financial security.

At the same time, I’m focused on the colleagues on my team and ensuring that each individual – whether his or her role is developer, analyst or project manager – get the training, support, coaching and opportunities he or she needs to build a strong and satisfying career at WTW. It’s important to me that our team members are always growing in their roles and their careers.

I think the most important role I play is in creating a team environment where everyone is committed to working together to deliver the best possible experience for the participants we serve. If we don’t get something exactly right the first time, we work tenaciously to improve, and we always apply the lessons learned to get better at what we do.

One of the most impactful moments in my career came during a summer internship before my senior year of college. During a three-week assignment supporting the benefits team, a middle-aged female employee came into the office to ask about her benefits because, as she shared, she was losing her vision and would soon be fully blind. She was trying to get all of her affairs “in order” while she still had sight. The opportunity to provide her with information about her benefits that offered some reassurance during a time of so much uncertainty and fear had a profound impact on me. Throughout my career in benefits administration, I think about her and the opportunity we have to make a positive difference in peoples lives.
